Information About Your Application to Hunter College’s {#Selective Program Curriculum#} Program

We regret to inform you that we cannot accept you to the {#Selective Program Curriculum#} Program at Hunter College for the {#Application Semester#} Semester.

Students considered for the NFS major must have a min overall 2.8 GPA and must complete the following prerequisite requirements by June 30 preceding Fall admittance.

  • Anatomy & Physiology I w/Lab: BIOL 120 or equivalent (4-4.5 credits)
  • Anatomy & Physiology II w/Lab: BIOL 122 or equivalent (4-4.5 credits)
  • General Chemistry w/Lab: CHEM 100/101 or CHEM 102/104/106 or CHEM 102/103 or CHEM 102/106 or CHEM 104/106 or equivalent (4-4.5 credits)
  • Organic Chemistry w/Lab: CHEM 120/121 or equivalent (4-4.5 credits)
  • Microbiology: BIOL 230 or equivalent (3 credits)
  • Statistics or Elementary Probability & Statistics: STAT 113 or STAT 213 or equivalent (3 credits)
  • Food Science I: NFS 131 or equivalent (3 credits)
  • Introduction to Nutrition: NFS 141 or equivalent (3 credits)

Note: Science prerequisites must be completed with a grade of “C” or better and a “B” or better is needed for the two nutrition and food science courses.

Although we were unable to offer you admission to the {#Selective Program Curriculum#}, you have been admitted to the Hunter College School of Arts and Sciences. Just one in four students are accepted to Hunter College, so have confidence knowing that you are part of an elite group.
